Who Says Quiet Cant Be Courageous?

I am probably the only quiet introvert on my team at work. When I first started I heard a lot of, "why are you so quiet?" "wow, you talk?" "we need to get you out of your shell". I have heard these my entire life. People assume that quiet is bad and needs to be changed, or that you need to be talking all the time to be contributing.

Since starting my job 9 months ago, I have already led 2 projects that have changed major processes on the team. These were processes that had been broken for a while and no one was able to see a way to fix them. I was able to fix these issues because I was quietly listening and observing. I saw the issues and then used my voice to not only speak up, but to propose a solution. I then lead the project initiatives to make the changes with the team.

I did all of this while being my quiet introverted self. You can shake things up and be a force for change AND be true to your quiet introverted nature. You can quietly shake things up. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

How are you quietly shaking things up in your life?

With Care,

Lisa
